Spanish Version

Issue No. 3
January - March 2006

To Governments and Partner Agencies:

We wish to share with you here the most relevant activities that RUTA has supported, with your collaboration during the first quarter of 2006

Rural development and poverty alleviation, the banners that lead our work, have guided our efforts on important matters for rural communities, such as prevention of avian influenza, rural financing, the Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), and conditions for rural workers, which are part of one of the informative articles in this issue of our newsletter, In Touch with RUTA. We have also made advances on the topics of organizations and the private sector, agribusiness, knowledge management, and RUTA management at the regional and country levels.

Hoping you find this information useful, I send you my sincerest regards,
